I'm sorry if some of you didn't get the chance to see the Lewis Black clip. Why just today I wanted to hear the pussyfeathers crack, and I was saddened to see that it had disappeared. Anyway, I'll keep posting more of my favorite comics. This guy lifts my mood when all hell breaks loose..
Speaking of moods, my mood was a train wreck during the last full moon. Not only was that week hellish in both work and personal life, I knew that there was a reason why things were going wrong. Alas on the full moon Friday (as per schedule on all full moons), I got my period. Yes, I don't need to worry about when it's due. My biological clock is in tune with the lunar cycle. It's weird. Like I'm a werewolf or something...I've read that a woman is empowered if she menstruates on the full moon. Anyway, to make a long story short, I talked to my dad that day (after a 3 month hiatus) and it was ugly. Finally I blurted that I had a period to tend to, and I couldn't deal with anymore for the night. Well, he said that he didn't have a bath all day and still had work to do...aaagh do I laugh or cry???!
There is a happy ending with this story. He broke the ice, and called last night. After years of endless arguments, I had a pleasant conversation with father and visited the folks in the evening. There is a God. He understood the pain and hurts, and gave me the greatest gift...a nice moment with dad. That's all I ever wanted. Later he sent a long email, which was full of warmth and generosity. Of course, he has always cared. Only that it was expressed in strange ways..
Okay that's enough sap for now. I had to share it with everyone! And I did have another great weekend! I was supposed to go out on a date (with, ahem, two guys), but they both had to work. I met them at the drag show. Down to earth people. No, I'm not interested in either one of them. But I liked their company. So, what to do but hit the town alone! I got all dolled up and went to my favorite bar (yeah it's called gay, but it welcomes everyone..which is why I love it!). They had a birthday bash for the owner, who is straight and married...yet, gets dressed up in drag to get into the spirit! It was a small crowd, but I had so much fun that I ended up staying till closing time. I wish I had pictures! There I am sitting at the bar, with the owner standing in heels, and yapping away for a couple of hours. Eventually he sat down because the shoes were killing him. What a riot! He had lots of funny stories to share. And I paid for one drink--the other two were treats from my new friends. I gave the bartender a nice tip!
I'm grateful to all the new people in my life--as well as the bright changes that have been developing!

Tolerance

To make up for yesterday's sour blog entry, I'm going to lighten the mood with some pictures from Saturday night...At a Halloween drag show:-) My pal's alter ego (the one in the black dress) is Sally Rottencrotch. Another favorite of mine was Chyna Buffet. It was great fun! And you know what? I'd rather hang out at this bar than the local straight ones. Everyone was down to earth and loving. A very tolerant place, unlike the snootiness of some of the straight bars. My new pals were also protective of anyone who tried to mess with me--which didn't happen, but it was nice to get the extra backup. Perhaps I should bring the posse to work?? Get that chick to lay off of my back. By the way, I had a meeting with my bosses. They said that they'd be having a talk with her and the others about intolerant behavior and job duties. Apparently no one is to take orders from others, and as usual, I find out the hard way...Wonder what work will be like tomorrow. I'm there to do my job--not be part of a stupid hormone infused clique. So if they don't like me, they can all kiss my ass! I had the day off, so I spent it by shopping (year end clearance sale at a local outlet!) and meeting my reiki teacher for a 2 hour session. I haven't seen her in a year--she was happy to see the new egg. And gave me tips about avoiding negative energy vampires:-) Have a good week, and remember to stand up for yourself!

"Attention...I need beer up here...NOW!!!"
Not a good day. Actually it was great until I had to face an extremely rude co-worker (aka spoiled brat). Although it has been a rainy day, it was a pleasant afternoon with my mom and her friend. They were meeting for lunch, and asked if I wanted to join them. Sure! FOOD. We had great conversations, and her friend said that I should meet her older daughter. Awesome--more new people to meet! Well, the party was over until I had to deal with the coworker from hell. Since I've joined this new workplace, I've noticed that cattiness is a side effect at most jobs. Everyone bitches about one thing or the other, and also talk about everyone else behind their backs. Nothing new right? Tell me! I'm just trying to be open-minded. Well, I have this chick who loves to throw her weight around me. I give my 100% to this job. It's rewarding because I know that I'm helping others who can't otherwise help themselves. Everyday someone tells me how much they appreciate the help, and how hard I work. Thanks. That's all I need. Well, this particular bitch from hell treats me like a slave. Either she doesn't like me, or is jealous....of what? That I don't talk on the cell phone while I'm working. Or lay on the couch like it's a resort. And treat people like second class citizens. She thinks these elder residents are dumb. HA! Anyhoot, she bossed me around quite a bit and gave me orders to take care of someone who wasn't on my list for the day. I was in for a 5-9shift and explained that I had enough to do. Then she yelled that I had to, and that it's my responsibility and HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT I DON'T DO MY JOB. WTF????!!!! She called off last week ten minutes before her shift--I took it since there wasn't anything to do that day. Also she "forgot" to take care of a resident before leaving her shift once (twice, thrice, who knows??!). I was boiling mad because I took this comment personally. I called the boss at home and explained the constant harrassment. She was furious, and said that she'd have a meeting with the bitch from hell. No need for anyone to treat me like a SLAVE. I will not tolerate this behavior...especially when she doesn't treat the other (ahem...white) coworkers this way. I hate to point out the color factor, but I'm beyond explanations with the second class treatment. Two more months until I join the master's program. Any idea as to how to stick it to her?? I hate to use revenge as a last resort, but hell even I have limits........
P.S. I changed the title of this post to a favorite line from "Police Academy 2" Just watch the movie and you'll understand my mood:-) Bobcat kicks ass! The original title of my post revealed the name of bitch from hell. Hell I had second thoughts...tame the tiger!
P.S.S. Actually I do have beer. My roomie instructed me to open the fridge as soon as she saw my state of mind. I love her!

A Night With The Television
Last night it was boob tube Friday. On my way back from work, I picked up a 6pack of Yuengling (good stuff!!) from a pizzeria. It sells good brands--with better prices than the bars. I wasn't in the mood to pick it up at a bar, which probably would have been crowded with people. I already had spent the whole day dealing with all sorts of personalities (i.e. bossy co-worker/spoiled brat). My roomie is out for the weekend, so it's just me at home. I warmed up her fabulous lasagna and turned on the TV. After surfing for a little while, I thought I'd go to the HBO channels. "Real Time with Bill Maher" wouldn't start until 1am. Great--more crap to surf through(I didn't find my favorites like "Golden Girls" or "Three's Company"). Alas, I landed on a movie called "Witches of Breastwick 2." Oh...I didn't realize what kind of flick it'd be. Seriously! Did two beers already affect my capacity to read? Well, I wasn't in the mood for this stuff. So, I thought "Borat" would be better. Only to find myself in the middle of the movie, where he's wrestling in the nude with his rather large friend. I couldn't believe they pulled this film off. I did crack up, but it was nauseating to see the graphic violence in the hotel room (and lobby!). Does anyone know if they got arrested? The RV with the frat boys, the Pentecostal revival, breaking the stuff in the confederate dude's store (hehehehe...that was awesome!)...I wonder what the first half of the movie was like. Anyway, I never ended up watching "Real Time," which I heard had a rowdy audience that night. Crashed at 4am. Overall it was a good evening. I'm glad that I didn't settle for the Breastwick movie. Tonight I'll be going to an entertaining show. Shall post about it later. Hope you all are enjoying yourselves, whether alone or with others:-)

Shopping, eating, laughing and more eating
Ola amigos! Well it has been another busy week! Last week was a light workload. I hung out with my mom--we did the usual mother-daughter outing...LUNCH! If I can get her away from household duties, then I've done my job:) And over that weekend, I escaped from this quiet town to a similar version. I hung out with my brother and his GF at State College. Basically the university is the main attraction. Wow talk about a big campus! We went to a nice Chinese restaurant, and later entertained at home with Dave Chappelle's standup, "Killing Them Softly." I think I've seen this a zillion times thanks to my brother. I also treated myself with a shopping excursion--I was lucky with my purchases!
Yesterday I hung out with bro and GF again. This time she came to our neck of the woods. After helping my mom with the garage (they moved two months ago, and the place was still cluttered with boxes) and study room, we went to dinner at the newly opened Bennigans. I stuffed myself with fajitas and strawberry lemonade (I couldn't drink since I had to work later that night..yes I covered another night shift, and also had to work this afternoon). Although I had six hours of sleep in between, I'm exhausted! My last hour of work was fine except for getting yelled at by a woman with dementia symptoms. What to do except suck it up and take care of her. Hope old age is kind to me!
Hope you guys are having a good weekend. Here's a photo of last night's outing...forgot to take pics inside, so we took a few in the freezing cold. Brrrr! Get ready for sweater weather!
P.S. It's Sunday and I had to post about my latest dream. Either I'm watching too much standup comedy or the dreamworld is more exciting than reality. I had a dream that Lewis Black was my date for a lecture/presentation/class. Next thing I know I see my high school pal, who I haven't seen in years. We hug and the dream ends. Maybe it's because I kept telling my brother about the jokes from "Red, White and Screwed." Happy dreaming!
