Fried egg with a side order of syrup

I've been on a leave of absence from blogging again. Work and other stressors were just piling up...So much that my face exploded with tiny pimples (which I'm still trying to kill with whatever acne products I can find!) And a sore, swollen neck to add to the madness. I'd rather be busy at work, but my body couldn't tolerate the pressures anymore. On a good note, I got a nice massage from a friend who considers massage therapy his hobby. Am I lucky or what?! Wowie it felt so good! I'll definitely go back again.

The hectic schedule didn't allow for much time to catch up on the news. I see that Mother Nature has been angry lately. What is She trying to tell us? Perhaps that we should practice more random acts of kindness to our fellow earthlings? I certainly have my days of not so fresh feelings and would rather hide in a tunnel somewhere...But I know that it wouldn't work for me. I'd rather be surrounded by silliness and hard laughter. Last week I went to bingo for the very first time with an elderly resident from work. It was fun! She said she was breaking me into her bad habits:) We'd always joke around about going together, but I always had to work on bingo nites. Alas last Wed I was able to tag along. Picked her up and came back about five hours later. She said she appreciated the company and I left with a warm feeling in my heart:)

Last nite, one of the residents who's known for her stubborn character asked if I was a Christian. I said that I was born as a Hindu, but as I grew up, I learned that all the religions teach the same principles...practice compassion to our fellow humans. We might come in different forms, but essentially we're made up of the same elements...She said that such a belief wouldn't get me to heaven. I just smiled and said I guess we're all entitled to our beliefs. I didn't leave with an angry feeling. Just made me want to butter her up even more:) Although I don't tolerate rudeness or ignorant behavior, I watch my back too...Be kind yet also aware of the surroundings.

Okay folks have an excellent weekend! This Egg plans on de-stressing heavily....

Good Girl Gone Bad!

Hello dear friends! My 32nd birthday bash was one of the best! I suppose that all birthdays should be full of nostalgia, but this time I was...truly happy. That is..I was happy with my inner-self. For years I battled with an emptiness that just wouldn't go away. Yes, I have finally accepted myself for who I really am. And I didn't need Dr. Phil or Oprah...hehehe! And where else to celebrate other than the most tolerant place in this neck of the woods...the gay bar! I didn't have a particular theme, but as the night progressed, and the silliness took over, I called it the "Bad Girl" nite:) Alas I was a good egg--just so much fun to have another alter-ego! I even had a drink named after me...hehehe! The nite included a drag show, several drinks, lots of crazy pics!, booty shaking on the dancefloor, laughs with pals, and ended with a breakfast of steak and eggs at our favorite diner. The next day I had dinner with my folks. It was yummy and I didn't get any lectures:) I made sure the pics from Bad Girl nite were deleted (after uploading). Okay there wasn't anything x-rated! Just some smooches with my gals (who are all straight!) and one of me grabbing her boob...hehehe! She said I had to do it for fun's sake. So I did:) I'm sure my parents would flip out if they saw the madness. Well here are two fun shots which captured the essence of my special day...Enjoy!

Eggtastic!

It's quite a beautiful day here in rural PA. And luckily it's my day off. Since I've been neglecting my blogging duties, I thought it'd be a good time to ramble...So let's see if I can recall some funny tidbits about the past couple of weeks...

1) Elderly resident, who I consider to be like a grandpa, made me laugh like a maniac when I said that the guy I was interested in only wanted a casual relationship. He said: "Hell I'd ride a bicycle just to see you! What the hell is wrong with him?" Hehehe. Considering that he has to use a walker and had surgery in both knees, I thought it was the best compliment a gal could get:)

2) I'm spoiling myself silly for my birthday. This included a visit to a new age shop. I'm fascinated by the mystical realm. No, I'm not a superstitious freak, but I do believe that there's a connection to a higher source and things "don't just happen." I met a cool woman who's helping me get in touch with my inner-self and regain some balance. As I was leaving her place, her 3 year old son ran out from the living room and hugged my leg. I picked him up into my arms and gave him a hug. He had the sweetest smile and giggle. His mom said that he never runs to strangers like that. I was touched and said "At least this little guy likes me!" She said not to worry and that love will come to me one day. Still it was magical to get such affection from a child.

3) Another funny incident happened at work. As some of you know, I work with the elderly and I truly love helping this crowd. And though it's sad to see the effects of dementia, I've learned that one must use laughter to deal with the pain. One woman cracked us all up during dinner time. Every day she tells us the same thing--that she can't eat certain foods because of her diabetes. We know this and give her only what she can eat. But her memory fails and she'll raise her hand and complain about something or the other. This time she yelled "What kind of rug trap is this?!!" I've never heard such an expression. It made us laugh out loud. Of course we had to do this behind closed doors:)

3) I realized that I have no self-control. No further explanations! Angel Jr knows what I'm talking about. Hehe I'll keep you all guessing:)

4) My tax refund came...and went to bills!!! Grrrrr

5) Last Fri I hung out with the guys. It was one of my new friend's (from the nite I went out alone) birthday. They drink like fish! I had so many tequila shots that I would have done the tequila dance if I had the right shoes. I walked the birthday boy home. He was quite trashed. We walked to the living room and his buddy was sitting on the couch watching "Oprah." He was at the bar earlier in the evening. I laughed and said "Why the hell are you watching this?" And then proceeded to ask "Are you guys all meeting here to do weed?" He said "Yeah.." I think I should just go ahead and become a detective...hehehehe! Don't worry I didn't participate. That stuff just doesn't sit well in my system. My drugs are coffee and booze.

6) I should go to a church and light a candle. My dad actually remembered my birthday. It's on Monday, April 14th. But I'm partying with my pals on Saturday. So, I spoke to my mom earlier and she said that dad wants me to come home to celebrate the occasion. He never remembers our birthdays (even his own) or his anniversary. How bizarre! Angel says that he must miss me. I guess...I'll be hungover on Sunday. Perfect time to visit the fam?! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Poking fun at marriage and real life dads

For Friday entertainment I'm sharing a clip from one of my favorite comedians, Bill Burr. If you're a fan of Chappelle's show, you'll recognize him from some skits. Bill Burr tells it like it is! I especially loved the last part of the clip--I could totally relate to the imitation of his dad!!! Have a great weekend folks! I may skip the wild dancing for a nite in my jammies along with a good book. I need to save the energy for my upcoming birthday:)

And how would you like your eggs?

Random musings about the Egg...

1) I had a dream that Angel Jr was best buddies with the comedian Carrot Top. They were driving around in a convertible with Carrot's kid. Does Carrot have a kid in real life? I don't know what this dream means. Can anyone explain? I'm nuts!

2) I'm very energetic and love new experiences. I don't know where I get the vast amount of fuel to be so bubbly (a nice term instead of hyper!). I'm definitely a people-person. I always find ways to connect with even the oddest of the bunch. This has caused many conflicts when group outings are concerned. Not everyone has the same level of tolerance for wacky people.

3) My reinvention tour started last August and is still continuing. It has been so much fun. But also draining when it comes to finances. No way in hell will I move back home! I'd rather be poor for a while until Angel Jr. and I have our own radio show. Anyway, the cash flow isn't the best. I know I'll upgrade to a higher paying job soon. I have to! And no way in hell that I'll return to clinical medicine. I had an idea about hand modeling...what do you guys think?

4) I used to be an insomniac for years. I have my relapses, but sleep has been much better for the past months. I had trouble with sleep since childhood, and the problem escalated when I went to medical school. Along with the insomnia, I also discovered that my dream-world can be quite exotic, funny, sad, and terrifying.

5) A couple of years ago I found out that the root of my sleeping problems is related to a condition called PTSD. We've all heard of it. I couldn't take it any longer, so I went to a therapist for a few months. I didn't feel so guilty about my anxiety anymore. I'll always be a sensitive freak (it's my nature to be a highly sensitive soul!), and will just have to find ways to manage this disorder. People who don't know me probably think I'm just a happy person all the time and wonder what kind of medication I must be taking. I call it a natural high. Yet we all have a dark side my friends. I'm learning to appreciate the light and dark sides of myself...I have a weird attraction to douchebags!

6) I love to eat. I savor the taste of every morsel, and this is why I eat slowly. I don't understand how some people just inhale food without really giving the taste buds a full experience. The slow eating also explains why I have a good metabolism (eh most of the time!). I'm proud of this habit. I think others should try it.

7) My hair can morph into various styles depending on the mood. If I don't blow dry, then the end result is a giant bouffant which usually surprises people..."Wow I didn't know you had so much hair!" Perhaps I'll post a picture of this style for your entertainment.

8) I tend to be closer with my guy friends. I have lots of girlfriends, and definitely appreciate their company and femininity. But somehow I can talk more openly with the male species. Generally I find that they don't worry about trivial concerns such as us women..."Oh I wonder if so and so thinks.." or "Does my ass look big in these jeans?" They don't give a shit. And make sure that this principle gets ingrained into your head. I've dumped many insecurities over the years due to their therapeutic principles. Thus, not ALL guys are douchebags!

9) I'll be turning 32 soon. For five years my birthdays were real downers. I tried to be happy for the occasion, but I wasn't. This year I'll be having a bash at my favorite hangout: the best gay bar in rural PA! The people are truly wonderful. Every time I go there, I'm surrounded by love. Recently one of the regulars said how he likes that I'm a natural glow. Me?! Really? He said I light up the place and am not afraid to be myself. Wow. If you told me this at 16, I would have laughed like a silly clown. Now I'm truly learning to value compliments:)

10) I'm flat broke, but life is beautiful (though sucky every once in a while--hey that's the beauty of it!). I wouldn't want it any other way. Okay some cash would be nice:)

Cooling down with hot pockets!

I'm much better than the last time that I was here:) Expressing the frustrations in writing helps a lot. You go back and wonder why you went berserk over a silly matter when there are much worse situations in the world!

Sat night I went dancing with my pals. It's simply the best exercise in the world! Even more fun was when a friend, who normally doesn't dance, decided to shake his ass with the rest of us. These are the moments to be treasured.

On Sun I was invited to my friend/landlady/co worker's place for dinner. I brought along a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing (ugh thank goodness for bakeries! was too hungover to make one from scratch). It was devoured after her yummy meal of ham and scalloped potatoes. Her family is very loving and down-to-earth. I consider this woman to be my surrogate mother (nothing wrong with having two mothers!):) After we ate, we watched funny clips of favorite comedians. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt for a while! Here's one that I had never seen before. Enjoy!
