"There's a lot of things about me that you don't know anything about, Dottie. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't understand. Things you shouldn't understand. You don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel."--Pee Wee, from "Pee Wee's Big Adventure"
I still think I'm good with kids. Or maybe that should include anyone under the age of 10. Just kidding. I realize that I was a handful for my parents. At 13 (or 12), I wanted a perm just like all the other American gals. Fought for my rights to go to school dances, prom, games, etc. Despite the insecurity (geeky glasses and all), I'm proud that I went to those functions. I didn't want to deprive myself of all those traditions and freedoms. Ultimately I didn't want to be just like the other Indian kids who were known for academic brilliance. I got good grades in everything--except science class. How the hell did I get the MD? Lots of memorization...Anyhoot I'm sort of glad that I never fit into a mold. You should see the looks on some Indian people when they see the tattoo. Not a curious look--more like a "what corner does she work" look. Whatever. Go suck an egg. Or when they find out that I'm still unmarried. Go suck more eggs. On that note, I'll have a big omelet. Tomorrow's breakfast.

No pic of said tattoo? :(
Angel-Thanks. I just think it's time for me to go home. This was a good experience. Once again a test of tolerance.
DA-It's around the ankle:) Got it 10yrs ago at a Hungarian tattoo parlor.
I was the black sheep in the house, was grounded for most of the freedoms and traditions I may have wanted to participate, and always said I never wanted kids. I now have 5. I always think I`m a bad mom.
i like your attitude.
what's the tattoo?
Brookem-Thanks, gotta be strong! Roses with thorns all around the ankle.
